England news: Quansah withdrawn
Jarell Quansah will sit out the English team's FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Latvia due to injury and the player – who did not participate in England's three-nil exhibition win over Wales at Wembley – will return to his team the Bundesliga club.
He has been a regular in the team's defence this season but the national squad said no additional squad replacements were planned for the qualifier in the Latvian capital on Tuesday.
England could earn a place for next year's FIFA World Cup with two matches to remaining if they beat Latvia on this Tuesday and results elsewhere in Group K go their way.
Preamble
It’s make or break for the Irish team, though their hopes of reaching the World Cup may already seem finished. A familiar figure in Cristiano Ronaldo greets them, and the Portuguese squad are top of Group F. At the venue, Ireland face a huge task.
Another key match will be European champion the Spanish national team, who have triumphed in all their matches so far in Group E, against the Georgian team, who have not yet qualified for a major tournament and are targeting for the playoffs. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has been a uncertainty and Liverpool supporters will get a chance to see Giorgi Mamardashvili.
